This is my dog training tip of the day. How to build calmness in your dog using their meal. If you think in the terms that you are training your dog 100% of the time, every reinforcement you give your dog or the environment gives your dog, is building some behavior or emotional state….

There are hundreds of dog training tricks, some are just basic commands, and others represent complex exercises. No matter what dog training tricks you intend to teach your dog, remember that the learning place mustn’t have any distracting element that could get the dog’s attention. Any exercise must contain many rewards as raising your voice won’t make the dog understand what you want, it will just get scared. Also remember that dog training tricks require a longer time interval to be taught, as too fast learning is almost impossible for any animal. Don’t leave your dog lose interest; simply stop when you feel tired or frustrated because the teaching process is too slow.

She barks at EVERYTHING!! Sometimes she will listen to me when I shout at her to stop. I don’t mind her barking but the continuous, out of control barking, must stop. She is the noisiest dog in the neighborhood. What can I do to train her to stop barking? I want to let her know that it is ok, but only in small amounts. Please give me your suggestions and experiences. Thanks:)

dog potty training help??

My dog (8 months old shih tzu) seems to have regressed in his potty training. He used to go out every morning and poop outside and in the evening as well. I was crate training him but over the summer I don’t work as much so I am home more. He seems to poop in the house even when he has been outside for long periods of time. I understand when he pees because he is spraying although he has not done that too much and I am getting him Neutered this week. He goes out several times a day and I do take him for a walk or play in the back yard in the evenings. Any suggestions on how to get him to stop pooping under the beds, in the closets and behind the couch would be great. I never seem to catch him in the act but when I do I yell and run him right outside. ….

Leash training a dog that pulls ?

Anyone have some tips on how to leash train a dog that pulls a lot? I’ll give u his story. I have a chocolate lab. Hes 6 years old. When he was a puppy a few days after we got him, he was in the hospital for 2 weeks with pneumonia, he was a pretty sick puppy. Anyway. once he came home he was ok for a little while.

Then we noticed him having problems with his back legs. Shortly there after he had major surgery on his back legs to fix what was wrong with him. I had 3 other dogs at the time so he couldnt be around them after that. He had to be locked up in a cage in a room by himself so he didnt mess up his surgery. Recovery time was about 6 months, of bein locked up. He had a few more problems after that. The vet said it was probably bad breeding. Anyway his puppy life wasnt great.
