Clicker Training Origin

Clicker training was started by Burrhus Frederic “B.F.” Skinner. He made several scientific claims and wrote extensively about human behaviors concerning operant conditioning. According to the dictionary, operant conditioning is the use of consequences to modify the occurrence and form of behavior. This means that when the subject either an animal or a human does an action it will be reinforced negatively or positively.

In most instances, this mechanism can be broken down into positive and negative conditioning wherein the first happens when a positive behavior or attitude is rewarded. For example, a animal could be taught to perform a task. The latter happens when a bad behavior is punished.

Potty Train A Dog

If you have recently gotten a new puppy, you may be experiencing some difficulties getting it to be potty trained. I bought a new puppy recently. She is a Jack Russell Terrier and she is very hyper. That said, she’s going to need to be walked alot to keep her at least sort of calm. But when I try and put her on a leash she just bites at the leash and very rarely even follows me or walks at all.

Does anyone have any tips or tricks to leash train her?

I’m wanting to start my puppy, Dixie, with some pre-agility training. I live in Dallas and I’ve seen some facilities online in the Dallas area that I’m considering. But I was wondering if anyone had suggestions about some good (or warnings about some not-so-good) places to do dog agility in the Dallas area.

First and most important tip that can be mentioned for dog training is patience
