Potty training is one of the best things you are going to do for you and your dog. It will take some time and some thinking, but in the end, you wont be coming home to a floor of covered in pee and poop!

The first of these canine house training tips is this: While you are away, keep your dog on a hard floor. Don’t let them roam around the house, they might do their on the carpet. What do you think is easier to clean, carpet or a hard floor?

The second canine house training tips is play. When you get home, after a long day at work, you are going to be tired and quite possibly in a crappy mood. Your dog is the exact opposite. Your dog will be over joyed to see you and full of energy! What better way to start your night off than to play with your dog? He will want it and need it. This will help you create a lasting bond between you and your dog.

The third, and most important, canine house training tip is to stay calm. When you come home, as I have said, you might be in a crappy mood. You also might come home to pee and poop, pillow stuffing, and shoes that have been chewed up all over the house. STAY CALM! It isn’t healthy for you or your dog if you freak out. Expect to come home to a mess, and when you do clean it up and move on with your day!

These canine house training tips are very, very basic, but they are the most overlooked points that I see a lot of dog owners make. Dogs are dogs, not humans. You shouldn’t think they are humans. Dogs don’t get mad at you, and they don’t want to get even with you. Dogs live in the “here and now”. The only they they do is live, they don’t remember what happened yesterday, nor do they think about whats going to happen tomorrow!
