Dog Potty Training Archives

When can you start dog potty training?  Your dog starts learning at the very moment you first meet him as your puppy.  It is easiest for you to do the training while he is still a young puppy.  As he becomes older, he will least likely to mess in the home by undergoing puppy potty training.

It is best to remember staying totally consistent and calm at all times with your techniques.  Timing is your key to success.  After taking in food or water, puppies pee or poop out within 15 or 20 minutes.  For that moment, take him where you want him to be.

Dog Potty Training Scam

Over time I have learned quite a few things about housetraining dogs. Most importantly, I have learned what works and what doesn’t work. I know how exasperating it can be to have to clean up puddles (and even worse!), no matter how much you love your dog or puppy.

There are a lot of conflicting theories about potty training a dog and it can be confusing to know which will work and which are useless.

Help with potty training dog!?

I’ve had my dog for about 4 months now. He’s a year old and I adopted him from an animal rescue. He was abused by his previous owner and is pretty skiddish although he does trust me. He’s been coming along great except for with his potty training. He still has accidents, I’d say about 1 a day. I take him out as much as possible and he knows to go outside. When I let him out he often goes. The problem is, if he needs to go when he is inside the house, he doesn’t even alert anyone or “ask to go out” he just goes somewhere in the house. It’s very frustrating and getting hard to live with. We have another dog who doesn’t have problems but he isn’t learning from watching. He also isn’t the kind of dog who marks his territory. When he goes, he goes a lot. It’s not like he will just go a little bit and then come inside and go some more. HELP! I am running out of patience!

Potty training is one of the most important things your puppy must learn. Common sense should tell you why it is the most vital part of raising a puppy and has to be done consistently to be effective. Apart from the maintenance of your household hygiene, trained dogs are happy dogs.

Puppy Potty Training is not so unusual from training older dogs. It is true that teaching old dogs new tricks would be more challenging because they already learned routines from the past. Patience is all you need to make your potty training successful. Although, it is still much better to start off training a puppy that never experienced training at all than a dog that has been trained many times and may have holdups and hindrances to not learn potty training the right way.

It has been believed that mature dogs can do better bowel control than new puppies. Soon after the dog has learned that it is not tolerable to do it inside the house, impediments on potty training will be occasional. Contrary to training puppies, it can begin its training right away.

impossible potty training (dog) HELPME!!!!?

I have a two year old dog and a one year old apt that he is ruining! Ive tried potty training him for the past two years and he simply cannot do it. I work 10 hrs a day 4 days a week, (but im home the other three,) and walk him very consistantly once when we wakeup and once when i get home. Regardless of how long ive been out, when I come home he’s marked a spot with a bit of urine. Im at my end with all this! Should i be walking him more? not allowing him to eat/drink when im out? Hes only 6lbs, and hes a mix between a shihtzo and toy poodle. He seems to be a very happy dog, so i dont believe hes bitter and doing this out of spite, but im not sure!? When I come home to see this (twice a day, everyday) I bring him over to it and then say ‘bad!’ in an angry voice and put him in the bathroom for about 15 mins…
what else can I do???!?!?! ahhhhhhhhhh!
