Dog potty training help needed!!?
We’ve been living in an apartment for about two months and our one chihuahua has been constantly going to the bathroom in the house. We thought she had stopped and then we got a kitten. Now having a cat in the house, she starting going in the house again. We take the dogs out every two hours and we take them about three or four times during the night. Almost everytime we take her for a walk, she refuses to go outside. But once she’s back in the house and you leave her, she goes to the bathroom. We can’t afford to put her in training right now but we are desperate to fix her potty problems.
She is on a fixed routine and we praise her like crazy when she actually goes outside. She’s 1 1/2 years old and everytime she goes it is on the carpet.
We also clean the litter box constantly so that it doesn’t smell.

She needs a fixed routine, when she gets up, after she eats, before bed.
Dont take her back in until she goes! Lots of praise when she does.
Having a cat probably doesnt help, she can smell pee inside so she does the same.
since she started doing this after the cat. maybe she feels like the cat can go inside so can i. have you thought about getting a pan for the dog. if you do you can’t use kitty litter, dogs have their own kind.
OK well this may sound weird but give her a litter box! Or every time she goes in the house ignore her and don’t look or anything. She is either doing this because she wants attention because you got a cat or she’s a puppy. Don’t even get mad at her!Keep doing this until she doesn’t do it as often. Make sure though she doesn’t go on carpet! After a while stay outside till she goes that way she won’t have to go. Do this until she stops! Hope this works!
