How can i make my dog to stop biting my feet whenever i walk her?
I got a chowchow pup and she is 2 months old. she keeps on biting my feet everytime i walk her out and when i hit her mouth to stop biting me, she just keep on making her way to reach my foot. i think she got the wrong message everytime i tried to hit her to make her stop. anyone there who trained their dogs to be obedient?

Buy an training collar. The kind that pinches the skin.Don’t worry it only grabs their attention.
Train him.
Take the dog to school
KICK HER!!!!!!!
kick it..that teach the pooch.
ok just kidding, have no clue, get a dog trainer or something that’ll work
don’t hit her… just bite her back…. lolz….
once when she bite u on ur feet…… u bite back her feet… so that she will get the right message….
Don’t hit her. Punishing dogs does not work when you’re trying to train them. Use the leash to gently pull her head up and give her a sharp “No!” In addition praise her like crazy when she’s walking correctly. Dogs (all animals really) learn the best/fastest through praise, not punishment.
Also you should probably look into some puppy training classes. At 2 months, the pup is only 8 weeks old and puppies are not suppose to be taken away from their mother until 10 weeks old. Your Chow probably has some social issues from being taken away too young and training classes should help.
She is so lucky to have someone who cares enough to get her off on the right foot (pun intended) Ya gotta remember that she is a baby! She’s barely weaned at 8-9 weeks old. If she had stayed with her littermates a bit longer, she would have learned not to bite, as she would have been ignored as soon as she bit too hard. Her mother would have growled, and tugged at her neck, to tell her to behave. Well, now you’re her parent.
You always have to respond with firmness and love. She is MUCH too young for a pinch collar, as the gentlman suggested. That is a sure fire way to traumatize her at this age.
She is playing with your feet because they remind her of her siblings. They are the only thing about you that is small enough to relate to, that also runs like her sisters.
You can’t teach her to be obedient yet….she is like a toddler..you merely control her to a certain extent. Clicker training works well for babies, or the ‘gentle leader’ head halter. (ask at any pet supply for them, they come with instructions) It will enable you to keep her head up when walking. But you have to be careful not to stifle her too much. When she becomes more interested in her world outside of you, this problem will pass…..
why don’t u wear shoes? anyway if u do rub somethin bad tasting to her,on ur shoes or feet then she’ll learn or get her to chew a toy that looks like and smells like ur shoes/feet
yeah, use hot chily or tabasco sause on you feet let her lick it off form your feet when she is outside
Say stern NO in a loud voice let her know you are upset .then ignore her for some time -most probally she will go away and sit in the conner -thats fine let her sit for some time ,she will learn. reward her with love praise and cookies and special food when she is good
Remove her teeth.
Then, if she further does so, then kick her out.
One thing is sure: you must never hit your pet. It does not teach them anything and just makes them scared of you and nervous which can contribute even more to the problem.
The best way to train pets (dogs especially) is to praise them and reward them with tasty treats when they behave well.
You can also get one of those whistles/honkers that startle your pet. you use it the second before your dog is about to do something naughty. That should work.
What you do is grab the loose skin on the back of her neck like her mother would. and hold her back from you feet and tell her NO in a firm voice. you will have to do this a few time and she should get the point that she is doing something bad. If that doesn’t work ignore her when she doesn’t get a reaction from you she will get bored with it she is playing with you to see how far she can push you.
she is still a young puppy!!! she is just trying to play. you need to tell her NO firmly when she goes for your feet, and give the leash a lil yank, and stop. she will get the point eventually. but you have to be patient, she is so young.
DO NOT hit this puppy!! That will only end up causing fear and or aggression–BOTH of which lead to a biting dog! Reaward is more effective than punishment! Since your pup is only 8 weeks old, you should also NOT buy a training collar.
Your dog is 8 weeks old. She’s teething! When she chews on you, ignore her. She’s doing it to get attention from you. If you’re walking and she starts biting, just stop walking, cross your arms and don’t look at her or say a word to her. She’ll quickly lose interest and when she does tell her she’s a good girl and start walking again. If she bites again, stop again. It shouldn’t take her long to learn that biting will get no reaction from you. Also, reward her if she can go for a few sidewalk blocks without biting you. Walk a few feet, tell her that she’s doing a nice walk and give her a yummy treat. The first few walks of doing this may be a bit tedious, but she’ll learn quickly. Be patient and consistent and the end result is a well-manored walking partner!
