Here is a great website for training tricks with video
http://www.loveyourdog.com/tricks.html
Shake, Crawl, beg, kiss, roll over etc.
it all starts with praise and reward, go to animal planet’s “it’s or the dog” and read on.
just be patient when training you adult dog, they usually take a little while longer to get used to the new things than a puppy.
well i would first start with the basics be as patient as possible dogs can pick up any frustration you may have. Many people use treats to train their dogs and i do not, i don’t want my dogs to expect a treat every time they do something. Praise is what i use, they do something i want them too i make a big deal about it.
Sit: Make sure you have her full attention then say “sit” then push her butt down once her butt hits the floor say “sit” then praise. Then do it all over again.
Lay: get her in a sit then take your hand by her nose then move your hand directly down and she will follow your hand once shes laying put a word to it “down” “lay” whatever you want
stay: what i did with my dogs was i told them to either “sit” or “lay” then put my hand as like stop signal then said “wait” then i would slowly walk away the min i saw them getting up i said quickly and sharply”upupup” went back made them sit did the stop signal with my hand again then said “wait” i continued to do that until i was able to walk away without them getting up.
Come: This is what i did with my dogs, is i clapped to get there attechion and said “come on” they come you praise do that until she comes on command. then once she does that what i did was not clap but said “come” and once they came i said “sit” and now when i say come they come and sit by my side and wait for the next command.
Shake: i make them sit and wait then i picked up their paw and shaked it then put a word to it “Shake” this takes alittle longer for them to get but contiue with it, be consistent.
Bark: this is harder than most. I had someone come to my door and ring the door belle and my dogs would bark and when they barked i put a word to it “Speak” or “bark” they do catch on once again be consistent dont give up.
If you want to know anymore tricks you can email me, my one german shepherd shyanne knows over 95 commands so i will probably be able to help you
