I have a big problem potty training my dog?
ive had him for three months now and he stil pees in my appartment .. my mom told me to keep him in the washroom and then take him out to pee every so often.. what do you guyz think? do you guyz have any other suggestions? the problem is that i take him out, he comes back and goes straight to his water and then pees again… hes very fluffy and its very hot here so i dont know if i should take the water away… now hes used to peeing in the house and he wont stop, he thinks its okay…
i love him but if this continues im gonna have to give him away.. i live in an appartment so i cant just put him on a leash and let him out in the back yard.. i wish he would grow up already

Crate train him. Do a question search on “crate training” or Google it. It is NOT cruel, and it makes a big difference.
training takes time. And the only thing you can do is take him out a lot and consistently. When you take him out go with him and watch him until he does go, then praise him for going outside, tell him he’s a good boy and maybe give him a treat. Do not take his water away, he needs access to water or he could dehydrate or get heat stroke. You could try taking him out each time he drinks water. The problem could just be that you are not taking him out enough. Young puppies cannot hold their bladder for very long so they need to go out very often and should be kept in a crate when no one is home to let them out.
First of all, dogs dont wont relieve themselves in a dirty spot so rub his nose in it when he does. I know it sounds bad but thats what they dont like. Then say BAD! and take him outside right after you do it. Try to take him out AS SOON as he’s done eating or drinking so he knows thats where he goes to the bathroom. Keep up with that routine and he will get the hint. I tell mine to go pee pee and he knows what that is now. And when he does go, praise him, say good pee pee! Sounds funny but they are like little kids.
Do you pee outside ? why should he ?
get rid of the dog, I am stuck with my dog cause my kids like it and the stupid thing is 3 and still pees in the house. some dogs are just dumb.
He’s just a baby, so putting him in a room unmonitored isn’t going to help because he won’t learn that he isn’t supposed to do it. You need to be with him every minute to reward for good behaviors, and use one word when you want him to learn something… ie: When I say “outside” my dog grabs his leash and brings it to me, because whenever I used to say outside I would grab the leash so he caught on. Next when you do take him outside say “Potty” and when he actually does pee make sure you say “Good Potty” and reward him so he knows thats what he is supposed to do. It takes a long time for them to catch on at least it did for my bichon. I also used to buy some liquid marker, which gives a scent and then tells the dog he should pee there. You just put it in the same spot on the grass where he peed the first time and he’ll go there, or you can invest $500 into this awesome stylish indoor dog potty! lol I would never buy it but here’s the site. GOOD LUCK stay by his side, he’s just a baby.
Only feed him when you’re able to take him out. Like what I did with my puppy is: I feed him every morning before work and take him out after he’s eaten most of his food and drank most of his water, then i take him out for 20 min. then in the afternoon do the same thing. He will get used to this pattern in about 2 weeks. Only give him water when he does the whole tongue hanging out
of the mouth thing.
