I need to train my dog to stop barking?

When she’s inside she doesn’t bark very much unless she’s fighting with our other dog, but when she goes outside to do her business she barks like crazy. I don’t like to use bark collars or anything like that so I was hoping someone could give me some training tips. Thanks.

Best advice is to go outside with the dogs. Run them around the yard and stuff until they potty, and then bring them in.
If she is only barking when going outside to the toilet surely its not that much of a problem.
Anyway I just use a spray bottle of water and squirt them when they bark. This has always worked for me and my dogs are not barkers.
a good training tip? give him a treat everytime he barks. contrary to popular belief, dogs actually HATE treats. trust me.

i don’t understand why you would not use a citronella no-bark collar … it is merely a tool to help you achieve the results you want … it is not cruel by any means and will work quicker than anything anyone can tell you on here … from experience i tell you this … my dog could bark until she was hoarse and with the no-bark collar, silent dog after a week …

Sorry to hear that. It is natural for all dogs to bark and it is their communication, but nuisance barking is a problem for all of us. Have you tried Bark Off? It is an ultrasonic device that fits in your pocket and very easy to use. It is just $10! Worth a try and Hope this helps you. Good luck.

The easiest thing to do is NOT allow barking to get to be a bad habit. As soon as your puppy or dog joins your house, you need to start teaching what will and will not be allowed.
Use a command such as NO BARK or ENOUGH and reinforce it with praise as soon as the dog quiets down. Use a firm but not yelling voice and again, yelling can sound like barking and make the situation worse as you are barking as well! Show the dog that you really like it when he is quiet. Just shouting NO can sound like a bark and get your dog even more exited and barky!
