yes i do get a fake dummy if you want him to stop and put a hole in the dummies leg and so the dog will hump that…..you may think i’m joking but i am 100% serious
dogs have hormones to so don’tt think theydintt
and as you can see this dog has raging hormones
Humping is NOT sexual. The dog feels like he is the boss of you! He is in charge of YOU! Apart from the humping the dog will then defy you and will not be able to control him at all. You need to make the dog realize that you are HIS OR HER boss! You can place your hand on the back of the dog near his neck which may make him freeze and point down with your finger saying LAY DOWN AND NO. Keep up with this. By you putting your hand on top of him you are showing YOU are boss.
I think Cesar Milan has a lot of good tricks for teaching your dog you are the leader though I have not read the books. His books are supposedly all about being the pack leader and boss of your dog.
grab him/her by the scruff, push them down, and firmly tell them no. Dog is trying to be dominant over you, make sure they understand who’s in charge
whenever he starts to hump, grab his collar or the back of his neck and tell him no in a firm voice while you remove him from your leg. If he starts to do it again, grab him again, firm no, and remove him. He will eventually get it.
There are two fairly simple options, try the first before moving onto the second.
The first one, is a firm loud ‘NO’. You do not need to yell, just express self confidence and make sure it sounds like an order, not a request. If the first NO does not work, your second NO could be partnered with you jerking your leg to the side. Do not kick the dog for obvious reasons. And do not jerk your leg towards yourself, this depending upon possition can result in your dog’s face or jaw smashing into your kneecap, or your own groin. Both of which are very bad for you, and the first of which is bad for the dog.
If after several days of trying this, if there is no progress then you will need to expand your efforts. Only try this if you are absolutely sure that your dog has not bitten anyone, and does not growl at anyone. If your dog’s only means of asserting dominance is humping, this is safe for you to do. If your dog bites or growls, ignore this and seek assitance from a trainer.
Option 2; if the above option does not work then you will need to use some physical means to tell him who is really boss. When he is attempting to mount your leg, grip the scruff of his neck on the back, and pull/push him away from your leg. This should be partnered with a firm NO. That is his warning. If he tries again within a couple minutes, you will need to pull him to his back by the scruff of his neck, and place your other hand at the back of his neck on his collar bone (NOT HIS THROAT) and hold him there until he has stopped struggling for long enough for you to count to 3 in your head. When you first pin your dog, give a firm NO. Once you have gotten in your count of 3, let him go.
Please note that the above step does not include you touching your dog’s throat at any time. This reprimand is aggressive, but not at all abusive. Strangulation is abusive, pinning is not. Ive done this to a 250 pound predator cat. I can tell you it works, and does not diminish the quality of the animal at all.
