Believe it or not you actually have the opportunity to experience a dog training course over the internet, if you choose to do so. Many people have chosen this as a way to help properly train their little pooches and it can work! Some skeptics are probably leery about this type of thing, wondering how in the world this would be at all possible and one of the concerns is the fact that you will not have the opportunity to ask the teacher of the online dog training course any questions. If this too is a real concern for you then the way that you should look at it is, paying a real life hands on instructor is going to cost you much more than taking an online dog training course, where you watch a recorded piece of an instructor providing you with all of the information that you would need to train your dog appropriately.

i watch cesar on tv-that makes sense, i’ve read many books on”positive only” approaches-that makes sense too. i have tried both clicker training and cesar’s way. i feel very confused. and opinions are strong and dogmatic(no pun intended) in both “camps”. meanwhile, my dog still has problems. one “way” seems to work for some things, another for others.

When you’ve finally made the decision to get a dog (one that my wife resisted all the way up to the end!), you have to ensure that you know how to properly stop dog training problems. The sit and drop are only two exercises that we teach our dogs in dog obedience training. Walking, stays and recalls are equally important.

Walking

You can teach your pup to walk on a loose lead using two positive reward training methods.

Try this retraining exercise if you have a dog that tries to pull your arm out of its socket. When the lead goes stiff, stop in your tracks. Wait for the lead to go slack, call the dogs name and click and treat as he comes to you. You may find it takes an hour to walk down the garden path to the front gate. The dog will get to understand that a loose lead is more rewarding than a tight lead fairly quickly.

How would you like to have a lot of fun and at the same time bond with your dog? Dog agility is a way to do just that. Dog agility has been around for a long time but over the past ten years has grown in popularity. This is evident just by watching TV where they now broadcast some of the competitions.

You don’t have to enter a competition though. There are many clubs around that you can become involved with and do it just for the fun of it. However once you get the bug you will probably want to enter some type of competition.
