Dog potty training advice?

I have a terrier and he always pees on my moms favorite rug. She’s always getting so mad at him and not letting him inside any more. She says I need to potty train him myself, but I don’t know how! Please help!

Potty Train A Dog

If you have recently gotten a new puppy, you may be experiencing some difficulties getting it to be potty trained. Animals, much like humans, are born with the natural instinct to go to the bathroom at will. It is a primal urge within all of us that we must learn to control. When we’re first born, we have little to no bladder control. Because of this, diapers were created. Here are some helpful hints to potty train a puppy.

We start out each day with a fresh diaper and go from there. Many puppy owners also use this method to assist them in training their new pet to control their bladder and eliminate large messes. You can approach this task in several ways. One of the most successful seems to be one which involves crating.

i answered a question in detail, then received an email in my personal box on ‘How to Train you Pup” or some similar jargon. Anyone else getting spam like this?

Potty Training Your Puppy Quickly

You might not believe it, however , you could teach puppies and older dogs
to go to the bathroom on command. Many pups can hear phrases which are repeated and connect them with what you need them to do. For example, when your pup is outdoors relieving him or herself, say “go potty.”

If you do this enough, the pup will quickly associate the phrase ‘go potty’ with relieving him or herself. This will train the puppy to go potty upon command. Word association is actually one of the best ways to train your pup.

The family dog is a year and two months old. Alot of times she still goes potty in the house. How do we get the dog to go outside all the time? It would save work to clean carpets and get rid of the stink for good. I always try to enforce dicipline saying no or bad whatnot. How can this be enforced as a family thing?

One of the first things that a puppy must learn is its name, but puppies potty training has to be the next most important.  The puppy’s bodily functions truly do affect your life and it needs to be taught the appropriate place to relieve itself.  This can be an easy task if you know what you are doing, but it can be just as difficult if you do not.

As with children, puppies need to mature or grow mentally and physically before they have control over their bodily functions.  Young puppies need to develop their muscles for bladder control and their brains so that they can be trained.  Puppies younger than 12 weeks old will be difficult to train. although this is not impossible.  As they grow older it takes less time for puppies potty training because of their development.  A puppy of six months old might take only a few days to train.

Why is my dog loosing her potty training?

We moved a couple of months ago and we went through the acclimatizing phase learning how to go outside and where in the yard is the “spot”. But in the last couple of weeks she has been messing up in the house and doing things she has not had a problem with sense she was a small puppy. I haven’t changed any of her routines or done anything different so i don’t get it. She was doing well with the move and being good. I would have expected any behavior like this to be when we first moved.. Any ideas?

Potty training puppies is one of the most important jobs dog owners have. It’s an essential skill your dog should learn very early in life, especially if you want your own life as its owner to be a lot less stressful.

Of course, the first thing you should realize before training is that your puppy is a baby. It doesn’t have full control over its own bowel movements, and it will need time and practice before it learns when and where to do its business.

Let’s be clear from the start. A potty is not used when puppy potty training. What we are talking about is house training your puppy so that it eliminates outdoors or in a designated indoor area rather than anywhere in the home.

1. Don’t look on puppy potty training as the unpleasant or messy side of owning a puppy. Rather see it as the first stage of a bonding process. One that will result in a happy and healthy relationship. That is the real reward of house training a dog.

New dog and potty training?

my family already has a dog, but i would like to get one for myself. I just remeber how tedious it was to potty train our old dog. So, if you have any suggestions on potty training i would appreciate them.

p.s.- my other dog does not appreciate it when other animals get attention, I would also like suggestions on how to deal with that problem too.
