Most people considering adopting a kitten are nervous about the prospect of figuring out how to potty train a cat. Anyone who has owned a dog knows how difficult potty training can be, and unfortunately these people mistakenly assume that potty training a kitten is just as hard.

Unlike dogs, kittens are naturally inclined to use the bathroom in a litter box if they cannot go outside. Though accidents do sometimes occur, learning the best way to potty train a kitten will reduce the number of messes you have to deal with during the litter-box training stage.

Invest in Multiple Boxes

If you have more than one kitten, or are planning to let your kitten have the run of the house right away, invest in multiple boxes. One of the primary reasons new kittens have accidents is that they simply can’t find the ‘box’ in time.

Having two or three litter-boxes in easy to access locations will ensure that your kitten always has a box close when they need to use the bathroom. Remember; once you have placed these litter boxes in your home don’t move them.

Your kitten or kittens will get confused if they go to a place associated with a litter-box only to find an empty space. Ok let’s move on to tip 2 on how to potty train a cat.

Don’t Use Scents

New cat owners are often attracted to scented kitty litter. What better way to deal with a box than mask the smell right? However, even if you think scented kitty litter is the best way to deal with multiple boxes your kittens won’t agree. Strong fragrances will actually repel a kitten and make them avoid the litter box.

When they smell an odor that they don’t associate with “bathroom” they will assume the litter box is for something else now, and will start using the bathroom in other parts of the house.

Clean the Litter Boxes

Tip 3 on how to potty train a cat is very important. When you are trying to potty train a kitten, you must keep the litter boxes extremely clean. While older cats may tolerate a box that is less than fresh, a kitten will not be so forgiving. Your kitten does not want to stand, or walk, in their own urine or feces. If you let the litter-box get dirty, the kitten will not use it. If you want to avoid accidents, and bad odors, keep the boxes in your home spotless. Even though you might not like cleaning the boxes, chances are you will like scrubbing kitten urine out of your carpet even less.

Owning a kitten is a fun experience that your entire family will enjoy. However, potty training your kitten is an important responsibility and you must do your part to make sure your kitten has a clean, safe, place to use the bathroom.

It is most important to know that most common kitten litter training mistakes occur without the owner even knowing they are doing something wrong. While there’s a lot to learn to toilet train a kitten, if you’re willing to put some effort into learning how to potty train a cat then I’m willing to let you in on my experience.

Searching for ways on how to potty train a dog is a crucial duty of any pet owner. Just like humans do, young puppies need to be educated so that they could be taught where’s the right spot to urinate and eliminate wastes. This technique is recognized as “potty training”. For training to work, look at if your dog can readily follow commands or it will take time to enable them to obey or it responds when given treats. Understand the attitude of the dog first before doing training.

Potty training is significantly important as it is very difficult to clean up when dogs pee or wastes in any parts of your house like furniture, carpets or home equipment. There is an option to hire a dog trainer and pay the fee. But, if your dog is not used to other people, then this could be not the right decision to make. It is best to perform the potty training on your own.

Always remember these simple tips if you want to know how to potty train a dog. These are easy to understand especially when the dog trusts you. Dogs can easily recall the trainings when they are rewarded rather than punished. For your dog to become more obedient, pet lovers must always realize that it requires patience, respect and trust. Usually do not make these dogs be scared of you as this will never be effective simply because will simply ignore your commands.

To become successful with your potty training, you should know about the basics of dog training. Two important matters involved on this practice are effort and timing. Ordinarily, the best time how to crate train a puppy happens when they are still young puppies. At a young age, puppies have a tendency to learn simple, easy and fast than adults can. If properly implemented, they may become accustomed to urinate and eliminate wastes on the proper spot and eventually make it a habit.

Normally, dogs are very territorial and as soon as they consider a place their home, they don’t usually relieve themselves there. They are really expert in holding their own wastes for extended time until they cannot do it anymore. When pet dogs do it indoors, this means disrespect. This kind of attitude needs to be corrected quickly. Potty training is a way for the dog owner as well as the pet to bond and acquire trust from one another.

There is also a need to stick to strict feeding routine. This would at some point result in to a patterned bowel movement. Soon after feeding the puppies on planned time every day, take it out of the house for 10-15 minutes. Walk your canine about your home but don’t do a play. The process will make it think that it is playtime each after meal instead of the potty plan.

Remember to praise the dog and present it a treat soon after it relieves itself to the precise spot. Take action until your dog makes it a habit. Showing disapproval when canines relieve inside would as well keep him recollect his lessons. Call his attention or take your pet outside whenever he does this inside the house. Learning on how to toilet train a puppyhow to toilet train a puppy is actually uncomplicated once you have your dog’s trust.

When you first take a dog or puppy home, you will most likely have to potty train your dog. There are a few people who are luck out and get an already potty trained dog, but this is pretty rare. The truth is, most new owners will have to train their dogs. This can be scary but it is a lot easier than it sounds.Patience and consistency is the most important thing to know when you need to potty train a dog. You can’t be relaxed one day and strict the next. If you do this, it will take a long while to succeed in potty training. Keeping the right mindset and concentrating on what needs to be done will make it fun and exciting. You need to first decide where you want the dog to go potty. Are you wanting it to go outside or on a pee pad inside? The most important thing when you potty train your dog is to provide a sense of consistency so that it knows what to expect. That means that if you decide to use a pee pad, then you have to leave it in one spot, and one spot only. Your dog really needs to know where it can be found at all times, because this way the amount of accidents will be reduced. In the event that your dog is showing a distinct preference for some other location, such as the kitchen floor, and is foregoing the pee pad altogether you need to start your training based on what the dog is already doing.Do not shout about where the dog has done its business; just put the pee pad on that place. This way, your dog will start to go on it and then you can give it praise. After several days, move the pee pad several feet towards the preferred location for it. Then, every few days, as the dog keeps using the pee pad, move the pad again in the direction of the place where you’d like it to be. Sooner or later, you’ll have the dog going just where you would like it to go.Learn more about how to Potty Train Dog here.No matter whether indoor or out, when you potty train a dog you should be careful to only give food and water during set meal times, so that there are less accidents. For outdoor training, wait about twenty minutes after eating, then put the leash on and take your dog outside, but do not let it just wander around as it pleases. Instead, lead it directly to a designated spot, and when your dog does what it’s expected to, give lots of acknowledgment along with a treat.Unlike the dogs being trained for the pee pads, your dog will not have a means to properly relieve itself. How to potty train a dog for going to the bathroom outside also means teaching it how to hold its bladder.Learn more about how to Potty Train Dog here.

Article by Benz Slow

Training your dog requires a great amount of patience especially when you are teaching it to potty at the right place. A problem with dogs is that they instinctively poop and pee anytime and anywhere they like. With potty training, you can teach your dog to do his or her thing when and where it really should.

Here are some points to consider when potty training your dog. First is confinement. Confining your dogs can sometimes be an ideal way of properly potty training your dog. You can use cages or crates to confine your canine pet. Just make sure to get the largest crate as possible to make sure that your dog can properly move about inside. The reason for confining your dog is to teach him not to potty on the crate or cage. Dogs do not like to potty in areas where they usually stay or sleep, so when nature calls for them, they would normally find a way to get out of the crate to potty.

By then, you can already show your dog where exactly you would want it to potty. Doing this whenever your dog wants to relieve itself will create a pattern that your dog will follow even if you will no longer need the help of a crate.

Second thing you must consider is to always include praise in your training. Try using a leash to control your dog from going around while training or running away. You can also use this to direct your dog to where it should potty. It would also help if you teach your dogs some words that would help him understand what you would want him to do, say for example, ‘go potty’. Use your commands over and over so that your dog will become familiar with it and learn to follow it as well. Always remember to reward your dog by giving him sweet and simple praises or giving him food treats for every correct response that he makes. This will make your dog happy, thus making him easier to train.

Also, you need to have the proper timing as to when you should give your dog the freedom to potty on its own. Some dogs learn potty training fast while there are those that need more time. You must learn to be very patient and observant potty training your dog to see the your pet’s progress.

Be reminded of some signs which dogs usually show when they are about to potty. These signs may include sudden disinterest to play; circling restlessly and running out of the room suddenly. You will learn to familiarize with these signs so you will not have much of a problem in potty training your dog as you go along. By then, you can be confident that your dog will have shown proper potty behavior.

Potty training your dog doesn’t have to be hard, even though it’s one of the most dreaded tasks of dog lovers, it can be done

Not only will it make the house smell, it could also damage the carpet or other things of value in the house.

Potty training is not as difficult as it seem. Even though it’s a lengthy procedure, at the end, it’s worth it.

For most dogs, it’s easier to potty train them as puppies. However, adult dogs can still be potty trained, but it will take extra effort and patience.

To start potty training them, the simplest method is the newspaper method.

This method has been proven to be very successful and one of the most effective. To those thinking, “I’ve tried or thought about that type of potty training,” did you stick with it long enough to give it a chance to work?

If not, follow along and give it another try, it really works!

To start potty training your dog, find a suitable place in the house, maybe by the back door. Place a lot of newspaper there and every hour or so, place the dog on the newspaper and tell him to do the toilet, or whatever command you want it to be.

Sooner or later, (yes maybe later than you like), the dog will begin to do their business. Repeat the process every hour, especially after the dog has slept and ate. After each successful potty training, praise your dog with a treat or something similar.

Also, make sure to keep a close eye on the dog when they’re roaming the house during potty training. You may be in for a little treat yourself otherwise.

In a few days or so, the dog will remember where to go to do their business. This is when you can start to move the newspaper outside, or atleast closer to the way out. When the dog comes again to where the newspaper used to be, move the dog outside to where the newspaper is.

After a couple times or so, the dog will know he has to go outside to do his business.

Potty training your dog is not something that can be done overnight. Look how long it takes a child to learn.

Some dogs will take longer than others so you must be patience, just like you would with your child.

Yelling at your dog for taking care of business in the wrong place solves nothing, in fact it can make potty training your dog harder. This will only make them scared, which will make potty training your dog longer.

With a lot of hard work and determination, you can teach your dog anything, especially potty training.

Potty training your dog is just a step toward another accomplishment in your dog’s life. Start to train them when they’re young and make sure they receive lots of treats and praise.

It’s amazing how far a loving relationship with your dog can go. Remember, they’re apart of your family to.

The #1 tip for Puppy potty training on command is consistency. You thought it would be more complicated than that? That is it. Set up a routine and stick to it, house training will be a snap.

On command dog potty training is an easy procedure using a voice cue to encourage elimination. Most puppies can be taught to relieve themselves on command.

Advantages to House Training Dogs on Command

This method for training your dog will avoid spending a lot of time waiting for your doggy to go potty. Additionally, this technique can be very practical if the weather is horrible. Other advantages are when you are traveling with your best friend or in time constrained situations. The words you use will soon act to trigger the behavior you want. Take your puppy potty consistently every hour and say, “Outside.” Take him to “his potty spot”. He will soon learn what outside means.

Praise and Reward for a Job Well Done

When you are outside with your dog, use any words that make sense – “Hurry up,” “Get busy,” “Do your business,” or some other socially acceptable, euphemistic eliminatory command. Before long, when you say “hurry up” she will squat. Quietly praise your faithful friend as she goes and say something like “Good Job.”

Each time your dog finishes, enthusiastically use praise – “Good puppie!” It may be a good idea to offer a food reinforcement or two – Input for Output – Praise and Reward.Puppy potty training is one of those times to pull out all the stops I use the Ferrari of dog treats – freeze-dried liver.

Your puppy will more likely eliminate if you stand still and let him circle around you on a leash. If your pet dog does not go after 5 minutes, no problem! Simply take him inside and crate him for a half-hour or so. Then try again. Repeat the process over and over until he does eliminate. Eventually, your pup will do the right thing and you will be able to reward him.

If your dog inappropriately urinates inside in your presence, say “Outside” and take him to “his spot”. Keep a good dog urine odor and stain remover on hand.

Dogs quickly learn that as soon as they eliminate, they are taken indoors and may hold it until they go back inside which is not the behavior you are aiming for. Instead, when your puppy has eliminated, take him for a walk or play fetch with the ball as a reward! Most dogs, especially puppies, like being outdoors. Your buddy will be encouraged by this and will quickly do what is expected of him so he can play.House Training a Dog – Easy as 1-2-3

1. Keep your puppy confined when not supervised. Dog crates are the best way to confinement when you are puppy potty training.2. Using your chosen word or phrase take your dog out routinely every hour leash-on to his designated spot, use command words for going potty and allow 5 minutes for your puppy to do this.3. Enthusiastically praise your puppy for doing the right thing and reward with treats and play or walk.

By instructing your pup to eliminate beforehand and by rewarding him for eliminating afterward, you will teach your best friend puppy potty training on command. The #1 key to house training is consistency.

Dog potty training has been greatly simplified by using crate-training and positive training methods. Dog potty training doesn’t have to be very stressful for you and your pet. Dog potty training can be easily done when the dogs are still young. Dog potty training is critical if you want to have a pet that will be happy and contented.

Dog toilet training is also the most common area where many dog owners initiate the wrong kinds of training protocols. Dogs are naturally clean animals and will not usually pee or poop at places where they sleep. Remember, you’re dealing with a sensitive, highly-strung dog: if you get angry or worry him further, the problem will worsen. The best house training procedures are those that use the dog’s own instincts to the owner’s advantage. When a dog pees on carpet or a puppy poops in house, this is simply your dog’s way of saying “I don’t understand.”

Housebreaking your new puppy is going to take patience. The key to successful housebreaking your pup is consistency. You should establish a housebreaking routine for the puppy.

Close supervision during dog potty training is also necessary because it gives you time to learn your dogs special quirks such as needing to urinate right after eating or a certain action they take prior to soiling the floor so you can watch for these actions and respond in the future. If your pet does have an accident indoors when you are still learning how to potty train a dog, correct the animal immediately and then clean the area using non-ammonia based products. House-training a dog requires repetition and affirmation.

House training a dog is without a doubt a frustrating process. The longer you wait to learn how to potty train a dog, the harder time you are going to have. Once you get dog potty training out of the way, you probably won’t have to think about it again.

Toilet training your dog is one of the first undertakings you should focus on. It may not be that easy to house train a dog, but, it is a goal you can achieve more quickly once you follow some advice on potty training for dogs shared in this write-up.

The earlier you train a puppy, specifically on potty-training, the better. Toilet training your dog is something you should do as soon as it arrives in your home from the pet shop, from a breeder friend’s house, etc. If you’re clueless about how to house train a dog, you should not worry as below you’ll learn pointers on potty training for dogs or dog training tips that will eventually make your furry friend house broken:

1. Treat your pet like a little child.

An initial tip for dog owners is for them to treat their dogs like children. This means that you should watch over your doggie like a baby sitter or a mother who watches over a kid. You should not let your beloved pet be out of your sight when you’re toilet training your dog. If you notice it sniffing around, walking from one spot to another as if in search of something, those are signs that you should start to house train a dog, specifically bring it immediately to the yard or to any place you’d like your pet to potty.

During times when you can’t watch over the dog, an advice on potty training for dogs that you should apply is to place him or her inside a crate. Part of dog training tips, of course, is for you to have a crate for your doggie that’s not too big that it can poop or pee in it while still being able to go to the other side of the crate without being bothered by the smell of urine or feces, nor should the crate be too small that your pet won’t be able to stand up or at least turn around in it.

2. Make a schedule and follow that no matter what.

When toilet training your dog, it is also highly recommended that you have a routine or schedule for your furry friend. For instance, you should give your puppy food at the same times each day and then after he or she is done eating, wait 10 – 15 minutes and then take your doggie outside or right to the spot where you want him or her to ‘do the deed’. By sticking to a schedule, you’ll be able to house train a dog faster or become more successful with potty training for dogs.

3. Reward or praise your pet every time it pees or defecates in its ‘potty area’.

Another tip if you’re in the process of toilet training your dog is to make sure to reward it with a treat or compliment or praise it every time your puppy urinates or answers the call of nature at the right place. By giving him or her praise or rewards, your beloved pet will learn that what he or she did was correct and that you were pleased. Most dogs like making their owners happy or pleased, thus, if you use praises or rewards for every good thing your doggie did, you’ll find it easier to house train a dog.

Potty training for dogs requires patience, hard work, and love for your doggie, for it to become successful.

When can you start dog potty training? Your dog starts learning at the very moment you first meet him as your puppy. It is easiest for you to do the training while he is still a young puppy. As he becomes older, he will least likely to mess in the home by undergoing puppy potty training.

It is best to remember staying totally consistent and calm at all times with your techniques. Timing is your key to success. After taking in food or water, puppies pee or poop out within 15 or 20 minutes. For that moment, take him where you want him to be.

Feed him or give him water only when you can take him outside immediately. Feeding at regular times should be established. It does not work if other than his regular meal times, he is allowed to feed. This feeding pattern helps to start his natural toilet pattern also. Your puppy drinks more than usual in warm, hot or dry weather or climate. Provide him access to fresh water and to his toilet area more frequently.

As soon as possible, establish good habits without expecting immediate results. A toilet area must be decided for him. You have to stay with him outside until he’s done, at least once every hour at the start of training. Never leave him alone outside. Your puppy must be able to distinguish an acceptable are especially if it is a home toilet area. It should not resemble the flooring.

Never yell or punish him physically if he does pee or poop where you don’t want him to. You must realize that it is not time to talk to him about it. Just quietly clean it up and ignore him.

It is not always fun to do potty training, particularly the waiting for him to go. As you are building a relationship while teaching him his first lessons, keep him with you as much as possible when you are both at home. Whether it means being at your side, in a confined area, in a crate or just nearby, be sure that you are not distracted from watching him every moment. Be patient as you take time to consider how the world must be for him.

The fun of being outside ends abruptly if you take him back inside the house right away when he is done. When he succeeds in your dog potty training, give him lots of praise.

Over time I have learned quite a few things about housetraining dogs. Most importantly, I have learned what works and what doesn’t work. I know how exasperating it can be to have to clean up puddles (and even worse!), no matter how much you love your dog or puppy.

There are a lot of conflicting theories about potty training a dog and it can be confusing to know which will work and which are useless.

Everyone you talk to seems to have different advice to give you.

When you have a new dog, whether it’s a puppy or an adult dog that is experiencing problems with potty training, you want to solve the problem as fast as possible, right?

The faster you can get your dog potty trained, the faster you will be able to completely enjoy the experience of sharing your life with a dog.

If you’ve heard horror stories from friends about how long it took them to housebreak their puppy or you’ve had bad experiences in the past with housebreaking a puppy, I want to assure you that the process does not have to take forever!

Grab A Copy Click here

Consider this fact.

You can housebreak your dog, whether it’s a puppy or an adult dog, in as little as 7 days!

That’s right; within a week you can have your dog housetrained!

In fact, often housebreaking a dog can be done in as little as 24 – 48 hrs but of course in truth some dogs will take longer. It will depend to a degree on their age and background plus what method of housetraining you use.
