he thinks its funny to hold my hand in his mouth and snap at it if i dont let him lick it. i have scars all over my arms just from playing with him. he has never responded to the word no or stop and bits more wen i stand or push him away

I adopted a foster dog from the shelter. He is a rescue dog from a house of 25 other dogs and my home was his first experience being a “pet”.

He is a very loving dog, and a perfect pet to my family. However, when people come to the house he freaks out. We will calm him down, but he will follow the guests around and snap at them when he can. I can’t figure out what his problem is or what to do about it. The other day he snipped at a two year old girl, who was not threatening him at all.

He is two years old and a mid sized dog, a little bigger than a cocker spaniel.

No matter how much we love our puppy, we wonder when it will ever be house broken. A new puppy has no idea about picking a place to “go.” Dogs really want to be house trained, because they want to have a clean living space. Here are three ways to use clicker training to make the house training process smoother and easier.

First, take your puppy to his potty place after eating and sleeping. After meals and upon awakening are the times that a puppy is most likely to need to go outside. Stay with your puppy and reward him when he goes where you want him to. If you’re using clicker training, click and reward his growing success.

Me and my family rescued a 9 month old american pitbull terrier from the shelter last month. We’ve tried for the past month to get her to stop biting and nipping at people and us when we walk in the door but nothing seems to be working. Is it to late to train her? Please give me any suggestions.

I have a Kind Charles Spaniel and no matter what he won’t stop biting people. He is a 8 month old puppy and a lot of people say he is just teething and needs toys. He already has a whole basket full of toys! Yes, he will chew on his toys but he will also bite people! Please, help.

How do you train a dog to stop jumping up at other dogs ? We have a pug border cross.
Do you train it to sit and then tell it to sit when he sees another dog ? Or do you need to do something else ? Can you train him yourself or should you pay for dog training. My dog is around 18 months old and we have only just got him. Any help would be appreciated.

Reward training is considered by many dog training professionals as the most modern method of training a dog, but reward training is probably a lot older than other methods of dog training. It may be that reward training for dogs has been around as long as there have been dogs to train. It is believed that the early humans used some informal kind of reward training when taming the wolf pups that eventually evolved into modern dogs.

Reward training or positive dog training generally consists of keeping the attention on what the dog is doing right, is usually recognized as not only the most effective method, and as a method that a positive experience for the dog, but also the most modern method of training a dog, but reward training probably is likely older than the other dog training methods, and probably goes way back thousands of years. It is quite conceivable that reward training for dogs has been around as long humans have interacted with dogs.
