Training your dog requires a great amount of patience especially when you are teaching it to potty at the right place. A problem with dogs is that they instinctively poop and pee anytime and anywhere they like. With potty training, you can teach your dog to do his or her thing when and where it really should.
Here are some points to consider when potty training your dog. First is confinement. Confining your dogs can sometimes be an ideal way of properly potty training your dog. You can use cages or crates to confine your canine pet. Just make sure to get the largest crate as possible to make sure that your dog can properly move about inside. The reason for confining your dog is to teach him not to potty on the crate or cage. Dogs do not like to potty in areas where they usually stay or sleep, so when nature calls for them, they would normally find a way to get out of the crate to potty.
I understand HOW you’re supposed to do it. But what is the purpose behind it? So the bird does a trick, you click, and the bird is rewarded with a treat. How is this supposed to make your bird trust you and open up to you more?
I’m talking about clicker training with BIRDS not dogs!!!!
I’ve never really heard about it until now, of course I haven’t owned a dog in quite awhile either. My dog is about 4 months old and seems to know how to sit, lay down, and he fetches well. We’re having trouble with OFF, as he likes to jump on people a lot and bite. Would a clicker be a good idea? if so, how to use it? other suggestions?

So my dog has a SUPER high prey-drive, and it is our downfall when it comes to walking on leash. Any time nothing is around, she’s not too bad at all. She occasionally pulls, but only to give something a quick sniff before she comes along. She is protective of me, so she likes to stay near, too. BUT if there is a small critter she goes BERSERK!!! It’s like she can’t even hear me anymore she’s so focused on the damn thing. I’m trying to teach her not to be so focused (is that even possible??) on the small critter, but I can’t find any treats that she likes better! She does like treats under normal circumstances, but when that happens she would much rather chase than eat any treat.
Do you have any idea of what I can use as a treat for her, or what is a SUPER tasty smelly flavorful treat I can try using? I try something new almost every time, but it’d be nice to just have a hint of what to try.
We have a clicker.. and his little ears perk up at the sound of it.. but I must not be using it the correct way. He just goes back to whatever he was doing.
